My LEGO origins

Some time in the early 1980s I was given a basic set for Christmas. It provides me with one of my earliest memories. I ran to the dining table, opened the box and fetched out three pieces and clicked them together. The result was a car, my automotive passion and love of LEGO grew from that point. 30 years on it was nice to rebuild it once more.

Heros in a half shell

A child of the 1980s, TMNT was a staple cartoon for me. When LEGO announced sets to go with a new cartoon my eyes lit up. Kim & Lily had clearly read my mind so for my birthday I got Raphael's Stealth Shell. Its awesome!

Cheesy film and pizza night

Thursday night has traditionally become the night a couple of friends pop over from Basingstoke, we order a pile of Dominos and pop a naff film in the player. Tonight is going to be our first chance to sample the new "hotdog stuffed crust" and I have the remake of Total Recall  ready to play.

Taxi to the 1970s

Further exploration of the old LEGO haul has revealed a few interesting pieces. Some online research has revealed they come from 1970s sets like this dinky Taxi. Set 608 from 1979. It came with 25 pieces and a minfigure of the driver. Theres nowhere for him to sit though which was common on the early sets.

Old school haul

After languishing in my parents loft for two decades, I've finally retrieved my old LEGO. There's plenty of Technic and loads of classic Space sets in there. Just got the job of colour sorting two boxes, cleaning and seeing what we have!
