Story teller

One of Lily's presents was this really cool Duplo fairy tale book. It includes pieces to make the characters from the story.

LEGO 392 - Formula One

Hobby sets, were LEGOs way of making a more advanced and realistic model in the mid 1970s. Moving away from the city scape and into larger vehicles they produced a series of cars, bikes and trains. It lasted for a couple of years and was replaced with the Technic range shortly after. Despite being so simple, the details are instantly recognisable.

1970s Formula One

Well its arrived. The box and instructions are in fantastic condition and apart from some yellowing stickers its perfect. Styled to look like Jody Scheckter’s 1974 Tyrrell. Its a blue and yellow blocky wonder.

70s Box art

Nowadays, you several angles of the model on the box and a little cartoony minifigure saying "hay!" In the 1970s it was basic and to the point, with the added bonus of some crazy haired kid excitedly checking out his latest purchase.

LEGO Hobby Sets

In my quest to find cool old LEGO, I hit the jackpot on eBay. Nobody else bid on it, so for £15, a 38 year old set is winging its way through the post to me.
